About AdButler

AdButler is an ad serving and management platform built by Sparklit Networks Inc. Trusted by publishers, advertisers, and agencies across Canada and worldwide, AdButler provides the infrastructure that powers digital advertising — from self-serve to ad servers and real-time bidding integrations to advanced analytics and yield optimization tools. Our development and engineering team is lean, moves fast, and is now embedding AI deeply into how we build and how our platform operates.

Role overview

We're looking for a skilled Software Developer who uses AI tools as a key part of their daily workflow — not as a novelty, but as a force multiplier. You'll build, develop and maintain web systems that sit at the heart of digital ad delivery, bringing solid software development fundamentals alongside a working familiarity with the ad tech ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain web services supporting ad delivery, impression tracking, and campaign reporting using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Google Stitch, Replit, Lovable) as a core part of your daily workflow for writing, testing, reviewing, and debugging code.
  • Develop front-end and back-end components for AdButler's ad management platform, campaign dashboards, and publisher-facing tools, leveraging AI coding assistants to accelerate implementation while maintaining code quality.
  • Turn product requirements and design mockups into working, shippable features across the stack.
  • Integrate with third-party ad platforms, data feeds, and reporting APIs.
  • Instrument and debug ad delivery pipelines, using AI tools to help triage logs, identify performance bottlenecks and reliability issues.
  • Design, write and test clean, well-documented code and contribute meaningfully to code reviews — including reviewing AI-generated code with the same rigor as human-written code.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new AI development tools and workflows as the ecosystem evolves, helping the team stay current on best practices for AI-augmented engineering.

Required qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience as a software developer or closely related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
  • A minimum of one year of hands-on experience with ad tech, digital advertising or digital publishing technology, including experience with ad serving, programmatic buying, or ad analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, MySQL (or other RDBMS).
  • Experience working with REST APIs.
  • A minimum of six months of regular experience utilizing AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code to support software development, debugging, testing and code review.
  • Experience with analytics or reporting pipelines and columnar data stores such as ClickHouse.
  • Solid debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and ask good questions.
  • English is the language of work.
