Configure Trusted Redirect Domains

A Trusted Redirect Domain is a pre-approved domain that can be used in third-party click tracking redirects that are integrated with your AdButler tags. This security feature is designed to to prevent abuse, ensuring that only domains that you have vetted can be used.

Some special notes: - AdButler domains (eg. servedbyadbutler.com) are automatically trusted, so you do not need to add them to your acccount directly - If an advertisements Destination URL domain matches the domain of a custom redirect, it will also be automatically approved

  1. Log into your account.
  2. On the left sidebar, navigate to Settings.
  3. Under Security Restrictions, click Trusted Redirect Domains.
  4. You will now see a list of previously added Trusted Redirect Domains.

Supported domain formats

Domains must be in an RFC valid format, with special exception to custom protocol implementations.

  • Standard domain format (e.g. example.com, sub.example.com)
  • Wildcard subdomains are also supported, (e.g. *.example.com, *.sub.example.com)
  • International domains are supported (e.g., 例.com)
  • Custom protocol-based entries as well (tel:3426234)

Creating a Trusted Redirect Domain

  1. Navigate to Trusted Redirect Domains (see steps above).
  2. Click the "Add Trusted Redirect Domain" button in the top right.
  3. A pop-up window titled "Create Trusted Redirect Domain" will appear.
  4. In the Name field, enter the domain you want to add
  5. Click "Create Trusted Redirect Domain".
  6. A confirmation message "Trusted redirect domain created successfully" will appear.

NOTE: Domains supported include Punycode / international domain names (IDN).


Deleting a Trusted Redirect Domain

  1. Navigate to Trusted Redirect Domains.
  2. Locate the domain you want to remove from the list.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (...) next to the domain entry.
  4. Select "Delete" from the options.
  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

⚠️ WARNING: Once deleted, the domain will no longer be trusted, and any redirects using it may be blocked.
