How to generate sellers.json entries for publishers

If you're using our programmatic features as a network, you may need to generate a seller entry. This is a collection of entries that indicate whose inventory you're allowed to sell and is generated as a JSON file.

How to set up a publisher's properties

You need to configure a publisher's properties properly before generating its seller entry.

  1. Go to the section of the relevant publisher (Your AdButler > Publishers > Your Publisher).
  2. Click on Edit Publisher Properties on the right menu.
  3. Enter the publisher's website URL in the Domain field.
  4. Choose the correct Seller Type for the publisher. It could be the publisher themselves, an intermediary like an SSP, or both.
  5. Click Save Publisher.

Repeat these steps for each publisher you'd like to include in your sellers.json file.

How to generate all publisher seller entries

  1. Click Publishers on the left navigation menu.
  2. Click Download Seller Entries on the far right.

The JSON file that you'll get contains all your seller entries. You should edit the file to include your business email and address. If you're not familiar with the syntax for doing so, you can review the sample .json file on page 9 of IAB Tech Lab's Sellers.json specification (PDF).

How to generate a single publisher seller entry

  1. Go to the section of the relevant publisher (Your AdButler > Publishers > Your Publisher).
  2. Click Download sellers.json Entry on the right menu. If you don't see that button, that means you haven't entered the publisher's domain in its properties. Refer to the setup instructions near the start of this article for more information.

The JSON file that you'll get contains only the entry for that seller.
